It's the picture we thought we'd never see - yesterday, after a week of fervent speculation, the Spice Girls stepped out as a 5-piece once more to announce their one-tour-only reunion.

Now, the Spices were never exactly renowned for their sense of style back in the day (see above - 'nuff said). But, with 7 years since their last album and an assortment of marriages, divorces and babies between them, the girls have certainly matured, and at yesterday's photo call there wasn't a Union Jack dress or a slick of glitter eyeshadow in sight.

Posh, the only Spicette to have really made waves with her fashion choices, lived up to her vixen image in a chest-enhancing bustier and super-shiny, super-skinny trousers (we fear Kate may have kick started a trend with her Glastonbury outfit - please don't let it catch on!); there wasn't a Nike tick in sight when it came to Sporty, who sported (chuckle) a pair of skinny trousers and a chic black shirt to accompany her chunky fringe; Ginger could have passed for Lily Cole's older sister in a tiered, floaty maxi dress; Baby looked as serene as ever, dressing her baby bump in a timeless Little Black Dress; and Scary flew the flag for curvy girls everywhere in a figure-hugging skirt and sweetheart neck halter top.

So it seems the return of the Spice Girls won't mean a regression to pigtails, pouts and peace signs.  Instead, we're simply excited to have them back - and looking forward to a darn good sing-a-long once the tour kicks off in December...
